معرفی
Madhav Ranganathan is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK), holding a PhD from Stanford University (2003) and an M.Sc. from IIT Bombay (1996). His professional experience includes positions at CNRS Marseille (2006-2007) and the University of Maryland (2003-2006) before joining IIT Kanpur in 2007.
His research focuses on statistical mechanics applications in materials science and biophysics, including thin film growth, multicomponent alloys, gene regulatory networks, and nonequilibrium phenomena. Specific investigations include heteroepitaxial growth using kinetic Monte Carlo simulations, crystal growth dynamics in impure solutions, and bioinformatics analysis of genetic expression patterns. Current projects examine Germanium/Silicon systems, Gallium Nitride growth, impurity effects in crystallization, and calcium transport in neuronal cells.
Research methodologies feature lattice-based kinetic Monte Carlo simulations with explicit elastic modeling, surface step dynamics analysis, and statistical genomics approaches. His publications demonstrate consistent focus on crystal growth mechanics, surface evolution, and biological systems modeling over the past decade.
