Madelyn Prevost is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Simon Fraser University (SFU). She is currently completing her PhD in Anthropology, focusing on ethnographic research about fibre artists on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. Her work explores the intersections of artisanal labor, place, and ethical practices. She combines traditional academic writing with creative projects, such as an ethnographic quilt and a curated exhibition, Carefully Gathered, scheduled for September-October 2024 at the Sunshine Coast Art Gallery.

Her research also involves collaborative projects with the City of New Westminster and Labour Studies Department, examining heritage commemoration, BC labour history, and oral history methodologies. In teaching, she currently instructs SA 356W D100 (Ethnography and Qualitative Methods). Her creative pursuits extend to artistic hobbies, weightlifting, and outdoor activities with her partner and cats.
