Madeleine Long

Dr. Madeleine Long serves as an Assistant Professor/Principal Faculty at the University of Charleston's PA Program. She holds an MPAS from the University of Charleston and a B.S. in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego. Her professional focus includes cardiology practice and medical education, with a strong commitment to underserved communities and patient health literacy.

Her research interests revolve around improving healthcare access for underserved populations and enhancing patient education outcomes. She actively participates in international health initiatives, including EMT medical missions to Tijuana, Mexico since 2016. Dr. Long is a Fellow of the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) and maintains memberships in PAEA and Kanawha Valley Young Life.

As an educator, she emphasizes hands-on training and patient-centered care, drawing from her 3+ years as a cardiology PA and prior clinical experience in La Jolla, CA. She previously served as an adjunct professor before joining the core faculty.
