MUSTAFA ULUTAN

Prof. Mustafa Ulutan is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Eskisehir Osmangazi University. He holds academic leadership roles, including Head of Department (since 2021) and Director of the Technology Transfer Office (since 2022). His research focuses on tribology, material science, non-traditional manufacturing, and surface engineering.

Education: PhD (2007) and MSc (2001) in Mechanical Engineering from Eskisehir Osmangazi University. His doctoral work investigated surface hardening processes and coating methods on AISI 4140 steel.

Research Interests: Optimization of additive manufacturing (e.g., plasma wire arc) for composites, cryogenic treatment effects on tool steels, and tribological behavior of coatings. He has published 63+ papers in SCI-indexed journals, with 15+ patents and projects, including studies on high-entropy alloys and WC-Co coatings.

Advising: Supervised 16 theses (PhD/MSc), focusing on topics like WAAM components, cryogenically treated steels, and composite coatings. Active in funded projects such as 'Titanium Alloy Production via WAAM' (2022-2024).

Labs/Teams: Leads research in advanced manufacturing techniques and material characterization, collaborating with industry partners through the Technology Transfer Office.
