Prof. Dr. METE FERİDUN is a Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Banking and Finance at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), located in Northern Cyprus. He holds a PhD in Economics from Loughborough University (2008), an MS in Banking and International Finance from City University, London (2003), and a BS in State System of Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania (2002).
His research focuses on financial stability, cryptocurrency dynamics, ESG integration in financial markets, and the impact of financial policies on emerging economies. He has supervised multiple ongoing and completed theses, including studies on CBDC modeling, fintech volatility spillovers, and financial repression effects in Iran.
Currently advising PhD candidates HALİL TUNÇ, MUSTAFA RUSO, and ORKUN BAYRAM, his work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical analysis in global finance. With no formal awards listed, his contributions lie primarily in academic supervision and departmental leadership.
