M.I.A. Stoelinga

M.I.A. Stoelinga is a Professor of Risk Management for High-tech systems at the University of Twente's Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS), specifically within the Department of Computer Science's Formal Methods and Tools (FMT) group. He additionally holds a 0.2 FTE appointment as full professor at Radboud University Nijmegen.

His research develops quantitative risk assessment methodologies for high-reliability systems including robots, nuclear plants, railway infrastructure, and medical devices. Using compositional techniques like fault tree analysis and model checking, he derives system-level risk profiles from component analyses to ensure safety boundaries.
