**M. Ram Murty** is a distinguished academic and researcher in the Department of Mathematics at Queen's University, Canada, where he holds the title of A. V. Douglas Distinguished University Professor and Queen's Research Chair. He earned his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) under Harold Stark.
