Lyudmyla Ardan is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Sigmund Weis School of Business, Susquehanna University. She holds a PhD in Economics from Clemson University and a BS in Business from Lock Haven University. Her research focuses on health economics, particularly the effects of early interventions on children's health and well-being. She has published in top journals like the Journal of Health Economics and American Journal of Health Economics.
Dr. Ardan teaches courses including Principles of Microeconomics, Health Economics, and International Trade. She actively participates in academic governance, serving on committees such as the GO Advisory Board, Internship and International Programs Committee, and the Central Curriculum Committee. She also co-directs the SWSB London Consulting Program.
Her research explores policy impacts on maternal and child health, including tobacco control policies, obesity effects during pregnancy, and WIC program outcomes. She has collaborated on studies analyzing minimum wage effects on parental time allocation and the economic efficiency of pandemic policies.
Dr. Ardan emphasizes student mentorship, particularly in cultivating economics interest through teaching and advising. Her work bridges economic theory with real-world health outcomes, contributing to evidence-based policy recommendations.
