معرفی
Lynnette Montgomery, PhD, BPHTY, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences at Drexel University, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at Drexel University College of Medicine. Her research focuses on neuroplasticity mechanisms following neurological injury and the role of physical therapy in enhancing functional recovery. She holds licenses as a physical therapist in Australia, Washington State, and Arizona.
- Education: PhD in Neuroscience (The Ohio State University), BPhty (Hons Class I) in Physiotherapy (University of Queensland).
- Research Interests: Neuroscience, neurorehabilitation, neural plasticity, and motor control.
Montgomery has received prestigious awards including the Paralyzed Veterans of America Fritz Krauth Memorial Award (2015) and Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS) scholarships. Her work investigates spinal cord injury recovery mechanisms, particularly through activity-based interventions and neurophysiological adaptations.
- Grants: Paralyzed Veterans of America Postdoctoral Fellowship (PI, $100,000).
Her publications span spinal cord injury-induced polyuria, autogenic stretch reflex modulation, and anatomical plasticity post-injury. She explores interdisciplinary approaches to bridge neurological deficits using rehabilitation strategies.
