Lynne D. Richardson, MD is Vice Chair for Academic, Research and Community Programs in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is a nationally recognized expert in health services research with extensive leadership roles including chairing the American College of Emergency Physicians Public Health Committee and serving as the national ACEP liaison to the Commission to End Healthcare Disparities.
Dr. Richardson's research focuses on access to care, healthcare resource utilization, emergency department crowding, healthcare safety net, public access defibrillation, bioethics, cultural competence, and health disparities. She has led numerous NIH-funded studies including the EMPATH Study, the PAD Trial, Community VOICES, and Projects ENGAGE/ENGAGE II exploring community perspectives on emergency research ethics and genomics.
Her scholarly contributions include 218 publications spanning topics from asthma to bioethics to health disparities. Recent work examines unmet health-related social needs among Medicare beneficiaries, asymptomatic hypertension management in emergency departments, and demographic disparities in medical AI systems.

Her work bridges emergency medicine, public health, and community engagement to improve healthcare for underserved populations.
