Lynn T. Singer, PhD, is a Distinguished University Professor and holds joint appointments in the Departments of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine. Her research focuses on developmental neurotoxicology, particularly the effects of maternal drug use (e.g., cocaine, alcohol, MDMA, opioids) on child development and family processes. She has directed major NIH-funded studies, including a 19-year longitudinal study of preterm infants and a cohort study on MDMA exposure. Dr. Singer has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles and edited two books. She received the 'Million Dollar Professor' award from Case Western Reserve and is a Fellow of AAAS, APS, and APA.
Administratively, she has served as Vice-Provost, Interim Provost, and Deputy Provost. Her NSF-funded ADVANCE grant pioneered programs to support women in STEM leadership. Her recent grants include studies on prenatal substance exposure and opioid-related developmental impacts. With an H-index of 62 and over 12,600 citations, her work bridges clinical, behavioral, and public health research.
