Lynda Schwartz is a Professor of Practice and Director of Forensic Accounting and Data Analytics Curriculum at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She holds an office at Isenberg 343 and can be reached at lschwartz@isenberg.umass.edu.
Dr. Schwartz earned a BBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her professional experience includes roles as a Forensic Accountant and Financial Expert Witness at Lynda Schwartz LLC, as well as a Partner in the Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services practice at Ernst & Young LLP (1998–2012) and earlier roles at Ernst & Young (1986–1998).
Her research and teaching focus on forensic accounting, fraud examination, fraud risk management, and data analytics. She has contributed to key publications such as the Fraud Risk Management Guide and the Understanding the Forensic Technology Landscape reference guide, emphasizing practical applications of forensic standards and technology in investigations.
Her publications highlight trends in forensic technology integration, fraud risk assessment, and litigation support. She has advised on expert witness services and fraud-related legal cases, leveraging her decades of industry experience.
