Dr. Lynda R. Daniel-Underwood serves as Associate Dean for Curriculum Evaluation and Learner Assessment at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where she also holds dual appointments as Associate Professor in both Medical Education and Emergency Medicine departments. With an MD from Loma Linda University (1991) and a PhD, her academic career spans over three decades with significant contributions to medical education methodology and emergency medicine.
Her research interests focus on medical education innovation, particularly using high-fidelity simulation to assess critical thinking in medical students. She has published extensively on sepsis management training, clinical toxicology (including snake envenomation), and comparative teaching methodologies. International collaboration features prominently in her work, with educational activities conducted in India and multinational research studies.
Dr. Daniel-Underwood has maintained an active scholarly output through 2020, with publications demonstrating evolving expertise from clinical toxicology in the early 2000s to sophisticated medical education assessment methodologies in recent years.
