Lynda Gichanda Spencer is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Rhodes University. Her academic roles include serving as Head of Department, Course Coordinator for English 1 and English 3, and Paper Coordinator for 'Encountering African Literature'. She leads significant research initiatives including the Andrew W. Mellon-funded Urban Connections in African Popular Imaginaries (UCAPI) Research Group and co-directs 'Contemporary African Texts and Contexts' – a collaborative project with Uppsala University focused on decolonizing literary archives and methodologies.
