Lyle Ungar is a Professor at the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania. He is affiliated with multiple graduate groups, including Genomics and Computational Biology in the School of Medicine, Operations, Information and Decisions in the Wharton School, and Psychology in the School of Arts and Sciences.
His research focuses on explainable machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing for psychology and medical research, analyzing social media and sensor data to understand well-being, empathy, and stress. His work spans bioinformatics, applied economics, and group decision-making.
