Lykke Margot Ricard

Lykke Margot Ricard is an Associate Professor in Sustainable Innovation and Technology at the Department of Technology and Innovation, University of Southern Denmark. She leads the SDU Innovation & Design Engineering (IDE) unit and serves as Head of Education for the MSc in Civil Engineering in Product Development and Innovation. Ricard is also Chairwoman of SDU SDG Collaboratorium and Vicechair of the Department Council.

Research Interests focus on sustainable design, circular economy, and innovation policy. Her work bridges ecodesign, textile recycling, and engineering education, with emphasis on systemic solutions for material recovery and climate resilience.

Recent research output includes projects on textile-to-textile recycling, design for longevity, and circular product passports, alongside contributions to climate policy in regions like Guinea-Bissau.

Scientific Awards include the SDU Research Dissemination Award (2023), Faculty of Engineering's Research Dissemination Prize (2023), and the Climate Cup Innovation Prize (2008).

Teaching spans courses in Design for Sustainability and supervision of MSc theses in Product Development and Innovation, integrating circular principles into engineering education.
