Lydia Huerta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gender, Race, and Identity at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her research focuses on 20th/21st-century cultural studies of the Americas, with emphasis on social media's role in narratives about the U.S./Mexico border and cultural responses to women-killings in Ciudad Juárez since 1993. She also examines policies affecting undocumented migrants, LGBTQ+ migration, and social movements.
