Luzi Hail is the Stephen J. Heyman Professor of Accounting at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he joined the Accounting Department in 2004 and became full Professor in 2017. His research focuses on international accounting, securities regulation, disclosure practices, and the cost of capital, with work published in leading journals including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, and Review of Financial Studies.
Education & Background: Born in Switzerland, Hail earned his doctoral degree from the University of Zurich, where he served as Assistant Professor of Accounting prior to academic appointments at the University of Washington and Wharton. He also has professional experience in Swiss banking.
