Luna Zagorac is a Research Fellow at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, focusing on particle cosmology and interdisciplinary astrophysics. Her research bridges theoretical dark matter dynamics, high-performance computing, and cosmic archaeology, including work on ultralight dark matter (ULDM) simulations and ancient Egyptian star maps. She completed her Ph.D. in Physics at Yale University (2022), advised by Nikhil Padmanabhan and Richard Easther.
Education: Ph.D. in Physics, Yale University (2022); earlier work involved optical studies of blazars at Colgate University’s Foggy Bottom Observatory. Research emphasizes ULDM phenomenology, soliton dynamics, and interdisciplinary approaches linking astrophysics with archaeology.
Key awards include the Leigh Page Award for Teaching Excellence (2021), NASA FINESST Fellowship (2020), and the Franke Graduate Fellowship (2019). She has contributed to developing the CHPLULTRA simulation code for ULDM and pioneered methods to map ancient Egyptian constellations using hieroglyphic sources.
