Luma Mantilla Garino

Luma Mantilla Garino is a Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Gender Studies, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Their LSE-funded PhD, initiated in 2020, examines political subjectivation processes and epistemic registers of disidencias sexo-genéricas (sex-gender dissidences) in Quito, Ecuador, and broader Abya Yala/Latinoamérica. Supervised by Dr. Leticia Sabsay and Dr. Sumi Madhok, their work explores themes such as (dis)identification, Whiteness/mestizaje, aesthetics, memory, and anti-productivist activisms.
