معرفی
Lukáš Matejka is a Slovak multidisciplinary artist and adjunct professor at the Audiovisual and Media Department of SZUŠ in Nová Dubnica. He holds a Master's in Fine Arts from the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica (2012) and is currently completing a doctoral degree there as an internal doctoral student. His work bridges traditional and digital media, emphasizing process-oriented creation over final products. Key research areas include social critique, human-nature dynamics, and institutional analysis through video art, net-art, and interactive installations.
As an external teacher at the Academy of Arts and SZUŠ, he integrates pedagogy with artistic innovation. He founded the Videoart match project and chairs the civic association TRAKT. Collaborations include the Cinematik Pieštany Film Festival (Videoart section curator), Banská Bystrica Dance Studio (projection design), and international festivals like Nuit Blanche. He also initiated the Festival of Light and Shadow and co-founded Multifestival (Children's Festival) in Banská Bystrica.
His creative portfolio spans over 50 works since 2006, including Brainwashing Mixtape (2015) and StructScan II (2014). He employs found footage techniques and explores themes like war critique, perception, and intimacy. His curatorial activities expand into light art festivals, including the 2026 European Capital of Culture project in Trenčín.
