Luke Putnam

Dr. Luke Putnam is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, specializing in gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery. He holds an MD from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and completed surgical training at UC Irvine followed by advanced fellowship training at USC. His clinical focus includes:

• Laparoscopic and robotic hernia repair
• Reflux surgery and hiatal hernia repair
• Foregut surgery

His research examines surgical techniques optimization, postoperative outcomes, and evidence-based approaches to complex abdominal procedures. Publications emphasize hernia repair methodologies, gastrectomy outcomes, and comparative surgical approaches.

Honors include induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for exemplary patient care. He maintains clinical practices in Los Angeles and Newport Beach.
