Luke Mills is a Lecturer in the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University, affiliated with the Centre for Reading. His research focuses on cognitive processes related to attentional control, reading, and the Stroop effect. He holds a Bachelor of Psychology (First Class Honours) from Macquarie University (2016) and a Master of Research in Cognitive Science (2017), both awarded at Macquarie University.
His research interests include phonological encoding mechanisms in speech production, semantic interference in attentional tasks, and visual similarity effects in masked priming paradigms. His work has been published in high-impact journals such as Journal of Experimental Psychology and Frontiers in Psychology.
Mills’ articles consistently explore experimental methodologies to understand how attention modulates cognitive processes, particularly in reading tasks. His recent studies (2018–2020) emphasize the role of speech production in Stroop task dynamics and the absence of negative priming in manual response contexts.
