Dr. Luke Fisher is a Lecturer at Aston University, where he serves in the School of Psychology under the College of Health and Life Sciences. Previously, he held a Visiting Lecturer role in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton. He earned a PhD in Psychology from Wolverhampton (2021), focusing on interference-based forgetting and motivational learning, alongside a PG Cert in Learning & Teaching in Higher Education (Aston, 2022) and a BSc (Hons) Psychology (Wolverhampton, 2014).
His research emphasizes cognitive psychology, particularly memory and forgetting mechanisms. Key interests include interference-based forgetting, modality-specific distraction in visual working memory, and the role of interest salience in learning. He employs quantitative methods to explore these areas.
Fisher teaches undergraduate and postgraduate modules such as PY2502 Applied Psychology & Professional Skills (as Module Convenor) and supervises final-year research projects. He also leads workshops on psychological wellbeing and research methods. His work bridges theoretical insights with practical pedagogical applications in higher education.
