معرفی
Dr Luke Doherty is a Departmental Lecturer in High Speed Flows at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Oxford Thermofluids Institute. He holds a PhD and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering and Science from The University of Queensland, Australia, where his doctoral work focused on scramjet engine aerodynamics in the T4 Shock Tunnel. Since joining Oxford in 2014, he has played a pivotal role in developing and managing cutting-edge high-speed facilities like the T6 Stalker Tunnel and the High Density Tunnel, advancing Oxford's leadership in experimental hypersonics.
Education:
- PhD in Hypersonics, University of Queensland (2008–2014)
- BEng (Hons I) & BSc, University of Queensland (2008)
Research interests span experimental hypersonic aerodynamics, facility development, and shockwave dynamics. His work emphasizes practical applications in aerospace systems and planetary exploration.
Advising & Grants: Though no named students or grants are listed, his roles involve advising on facility operations and experimental design.
Labs/Teams: Leads technical operations at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute, managing state-of-the-art facilities critical to high-speed research.
