Dr. Lukasz Stelinski is a Professor of Entomology and Nematology at the University of Florida's Citrus Research and Education Center. His research focuses on integrated pest management strategies, particularly targeting insect pests of citrus and other crops. He leads a team addressing challenges like Huanglongbing (HLB) through chemical ecology, plant-insect interactions, and vector-pathogen dynamics. His work spans lab-based studies on insect behavior, pesticide resistance, and biological control, alongside applied strategies like attract-and-kill technologies and gene silencing.
- Key affiliations: University of Florida/IFAS, Citrus REC
- Research highlights: Vector management, plant defense mechanisms, and sustainable pest control.
Recent studies include exploring microbial-plant-insect interactions for agroecosystem sustainability and developing RNAi-based solutions for HLB. He advises graduate students (e.g., Corey Reese, Esmeralda Martinez) and collaborates globally on pest management innovations.
