Lukasz Pilarski is a Senior Lecturer at Uppsala University's Department of Chemistry - BMC within the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology, where he leads the Pilarski research group focused on advancing synthetic organic chemistry.
His research centers on developing sustainable synthetic methodologies through C-H activation, aryne reactivity, and main group element chemistry (particularly boronates and silanes), aiming to create faster, cheaper, and environmentally friendly organic synthesis routes via catalysis and green chemistry principles. The group emphasizes practical applications in sustainable molecular construction for pharmaceuticals and functional materials.
Dr. Pilarski currently supervises PhD student Fredrik Barnå and collaborates within Uppsala's Organic Chemistry division, which includes specialized research groups like Erdelyi, Streuff, and Kihlberg. His work directly contributes to the department's mission of innovating eco-conscious chemical processes while maintaining rigorous academic training in synthetic techniques.
