Lukas S. Stelzl is a Junior Faculty Member at the Max Planck Graduate Center in Mainz, Germany (since 2021), and serves as a ReALity Junior Group Leader and IMB Associate Group Leader (since 2020). His academic journey began with a Master's in Biochemistry (MBiochem, 2006-2010) and a PhD (DPhil, 2010-2014) in Molecular Biochemistry and Chemical Biology from the University of Oxford, supervised by Christina Redfield and Mark Sansom.

Lukas specializes in theoretical biophysics and computational biology, focusing on protein folding and molecular dynamics simulations through his postdoctoral work at the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics (2015-2020). His expertise extends to NMR spectroscopy and biophysical modeling.
His accolades include the BBSRC Doctoral Studentship, the Research Project Prize from the University of Oxford, and the BBSRC Vacation Research Bursary. He was also recognized with the Progress Prize from Trinity College, Oxford.
