Lukas Rudolph is an Assistant Professor (Juniorprofessor) of Political Behavior at the University of Konstanz's Department of Politics and Public Administration and the Center for Data and Methods. He holds a PhD from LMU Munich and previously served as Senior Research Fellow at LMU Munich's Geschwister Scholl Institute of Political Science and as Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zurich's Center for Comparative and International Studies and Institute of Science, Technology and Policy.
His research focuses on political behavior, public opinion dynamics, voting behavior, environmental politics, and causal inference methodologies. Key interests include preference formation, survey experimentation, and institutional impacts on political processes. He employs quantitative methods to study topics such as climate change migration, arms trade attitudes, and the role of electoral systems in representation.
Rudolph's recent work explores environmental policy preferences in Switzerland and Bangladesh, the effects of information on voting behavior, and the interplay between corruption scandals and party reputation. His research has been published in journals like European Political Science Review, Public Opinion Quarterly, and Global Environmental Change.
He leads the AG Rudolph (Political Behavior) research group, focusing on experimental methods and causal analysis. Current teaching includes advanced seminars on survey experiments and international political economy.
