Lukas Marstaller is a Lecturer in the Department of Art at Offenbach University of Art and Design’s Faculty of Art, where he researches playful spatial metaphors between body and surface. Based in Berlin, his practice spans sculptures, installations, publications, websites, and music through collaborative formations like the FAN Collective and design studio BNAG, co-founded in 2013.
His work explores functional art and experimental communication, focusing on how design operates as social practice—evident in projects investigating collective experiences like humming (*Summhaus*) and typographic-physical hybrids (*ABC Connect*). Spatial relationships between body and environment form a unifying thread across his interdisciplinary output.
Recent projects reveal a trend toward integrating social interaction with spatial design: *Marble Run* (2024) merges scenography with Swiss cultural representation, while *FARM* (2023) bridges agricultural contexts with participatory exhibition formats. These works prioritize co-creative processes and digital-physical translation across international platforms.
BNAG functions as a multi-sensory laboratory for social practice design, while the FAN Collective—a group of ten artists—initiates irregular collaborative projects. Both platforms facilitate his exploration of community-driven design, including publications like *Butter Books* and music production under Luka08.
