Luiz Felipe Rocha de Faria

Luiz Felipe Rocha de Faria is a Senior Lecturer at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), Instituto Politécnico do Porto, where he has served since 2020. His career spans over two decades in academic roles, including positions as Professor Adjunto (Assistant Professor) from 2010–2020 and earlier roles as a permanent lecturer. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Universidade do Porto (2002), a Master’s in the same field (1996), and a Licenciatura in Computer Engineering (1993). He is a founding member of e-IPP (eLearning Unit) and has led the Computer Engineering Department.

His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence for Education and Power Systems, particularly through Adaptive Hypermedia, Intelligent Tutoring Systems, and Cyber-Physical Systems. He has contributed to projects like TINSEL (electrical installation design tutoring) and GECAD (intelligent systems for power grid control). A key theme in his work is User Modeling for personalized learning and Context Awareness in training environments.
