Luisa Alessia Grote

Luisa Alessia Grote is a Doctoral student and Scientific staff member in the Department of Ergonomics at the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environments and Human Factors (IfADo) in Dortmund, Germany, holding this position since October 2024. She operates within the Experimental Ergonomics team under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Edmund Wascher, focusing on interdisciplinary research that integrates cognitive neuroscience with ergonomic design principles to optimize human performance in work environments.

• 2022: Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English Studies from Ruhr University Bochum

Grote's research investigates the neural and cognitive mechanisms underlying workplace performance, with primary emphasis on EEG correlates of cognitive states related to action control and motivation. She examines how motivational factors dynamically interact with executive functions and working memory processes, utilizing neuroergonomic methodologies to bridge theoretical cognitive science with practical ergonomic applications. This work contributes to designing work systems that align with human cognitive architecture, reducing error rates and enhancing productivity in complex operational settings.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Grote served as a Research Assistant in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at IfADo (2023-2024) while concurrently working at the Chair of Philosophy of Language and Cognition at Ruhr University Bochum (2022-2024), establishing her unique interdisciplinary approach combining empirical neuroscience with philosophical inquiry into cognition.
