Luis Valentin Pereda Aguado is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Criminology within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Montreal. His research focuses on organized crime, criminal networks, police practices, and transnational crime dynamics, particularly involving Mexico, the United States, and Europe. He is affiliated with the Centre international de criminologie comparée (CICC) and contributes to strategic research initiatives.
Research Projects:
- Leading a 2025–2029 project examining transnational links between Quebec and Mexican criminal networks (FRQSC-funded).
- Co-leading a 2024–2027 study on organized crime dynamics in Quebec prisons (CRSH-funded).
- Co-researcher in the 2024–2031 CICC strategic research group (FRQSC-funded).
Teaching: Courses include qualitative methods, organized crime, counter-terrorism, and transnational security.
