Luis Paya Castello

Luis Paya Castello is a Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Automation at Miguel Hernández University of Elche, concurrently serving as Deputy Vice Rector for Academic Affairs & Teaching Quality. His administrative office operates from the Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs building in Elche, Alicante.

His research centers on automation systems and robotics, evidenced by his active membership in the ARVC Laboratory (Automation, Robotics and Computer Vision Lab). Core research domains include mobile robotics, image processing, state-space control systems, and advanced control theory.

Prof. Paya teaches across multiple engineering programs, coordinating foundational courses like Systems Theory and State-Space Control for the Bachelor's in Electronic Engineering, while leading specialized master's courses including Mobile Robotics and Advanced Control for Industrial Engineering and Robotics degrees.
