Luis Gonzalez is a Postdoctoral Associate and MD-PhD student in the Dardik Lab at Yale School of Medicine’s Surgery Department. He holds a BS in Biochemistry from UCLA (2015). His research focuses on vascular biology, immunology, and surgical innovation, particularly investigating arteriovenous fistula remodeling mechanisms and their clinical applications. He has contributed to studies on TGF-β signaling’s role in venous adaptation, PD-L1’s immunomodulatory effects, and sex-based differences in vascular outcomes.
- Education: BS in Biochemistry, University of California, Los Angeles (2015)
Research interests include endothelial cell dynamics, immunomodulation in vascular repair, and translational strategies to enhance fistula patency. He has received the Society for Vascular Surgery 2021 Travel Scholarship for his work on T-cell regulation in venous remodeling. Gonzalez collaborates extensively with the Dardik Lab team, contributing to peer-reviewed publications in Arteriosclerosis Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, Blood, and other high-impact journals.
