Luis Fellipe Kral Garcia

Luis Fellipe Kral Garcia is a special postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven’s Center for Metaphysics, Philosophy of Religion and Culture (OE), funded by the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO). His work focuses on classical German philosophy’s relevance to contemporary environmental and cultural issues. Previously, he held Marie Curie and Humboldt Foundation fellowships at KU Leuven (with Cambridge secondment) and LMU Munich.

His research interests span philosophy of nature, metaphilosophy, and the interplay between philosophy and science. He has authored a monograph on Fichte’s metaphilosophy (Olms) and edited The Concept of Nature in Classical German Philosophy (De Gruyter). Current projects include Schelling’s philosophy of nature and environmental ethics.

Recent publications analyze Schelling’s use of chemistry in natural philosophy, Kant’s schematism’s influence on Schelling, and historical connections between Fichte and Kant. His work bridges early 19th-century thought with modern scientific and environmental discourse.
