Luis Brey

Luis Brey is a Researcher at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid (ICMM), CSIC. His research focuses on mesoscopic physics, two-dimensional electron gas, diluted magnetic semiconductors, quantum Hall effects, and complex oxides, with recent emphasis on manganites, graphene, and topological insulators.

Education: He earned his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1987). He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University and served as an Assistant Professor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid before joining ICMM-CSIC in 1993.

He has held visiting roles as a Guest Scientist at the Max Planck Institute (Stuttgart), AT&T Bell Laboratories (Murray Hill), and as a Visiting Professor at Cambridge University.

His work bridges theoretical and experimental condensed matter physics, emphasizing electronic properties of novel materials. Collaborations include leading teams at ICMM and international institutions.
