Ludvig Edman is a Professor at the Department of Physics, Umeå University, leading the Organic Photonics and Electronics Group (OPEG). He specializes in developing advanced photonic and electronic devices, particularly light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), focusing on sustainability and energy efficiency. His work integrates materials synthesis, device fabrication, and fundamental physics to create eco-friendly technologies.
Edman's research emphasizes organic semiconductors, electrochemical systems, and flexible electronics. He has pioneered methods like spray-coating for device fabrication and developed metal-free LECs, recognized globally for their environmental benefits.
