Lucía Loureiro Porto

Lucía Loureiro Porto is a Full Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands, specializing in World Englishes, morphosyntactic variation, and grammaticalization processes. She co-directs the book series English Studies (UIB Press) and serves on the editorial board of Transactions of the Philological Society.

• MA in English Language and Linguistics (University of Santiago de Compostela, 2002)

Her research focuses on democratization and colloquialization in Asian Englishes, modal verbs of necessity in World Englishes, and the ICE Gibraltar project. She has supervised multiple PhD students and collaborated with international institutions.
