Lucy Zhao is a Lecturer in the Finance Discipline Group at the University of Technology Sydney Business School. Her research focuses on corporate finance, asset pricing, and the impact of stock liquidity on corporate financial decisions. She holds a PhD in Finance from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
Zhao's research examines how market liquidity influences corporate policies including leverage decisions, cash holdings valuation, and payout strategies. Recent work investigates how firms adjust financial policies in response to social responsibility perceptions and during economic crises. Her studies provide insights into the interplay between market conditions and corporate financial strategies.
Her current projects analyze strategic deviation effects on supply chain financing and liquidity dynamics during systemic financial crises. These contributions advance understanding of how market mechanisms shape corporate financial decision-making.
