Dr. Lucy Audley-Miller is a Lecturer in Roman History and Archaeology at King's College London's Department of Classics within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. She holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford and has held fellowships at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and Oxford prior to her current position. Her research focuses on visual and material culture of the Roman world, particularly funerary practices, body ideals, and cultural identity formation under Roman imperialism. She has conducted fieldwork across Britain, Macedonia, Jordan, Libya, Romania, Syria, and Turkey.

Her research investigates how visual culture reflects socio-cultural transformations in the Roman Empire, analyzing stone portraits and funerary monuments from Syria to North Africa. Current projects examine how Roman contact influenced local body ideals, gender values, and commemorative practices. She teaches modules on Roman archaeology, art, and Byzantine history.
Recent publications explore topics such as sanctuary archaeology in Miletus, transcultural myth use, and Palmyrene funerary banquets. Her monograph-in-progress examines cultural change through Roman-era portraiture and burial practices.
