Dr. Lucija Rapan serves as a Research Associate and Scientist at the C. & O. Vogt Institute for Brain Research, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, where she is affiliated with the Institute of Neurosciences and Medicine (INM-1). Her work is conducted at the LSC Building 97.36, Level 3, Room 108, and she also has connections to the INM facility at Building 15.9 / Room 2005b.
Dr. Rapan's primary research focuses on the characterization of cyto- and receptor architecture in specific brain regions. Her work centers on the posterior cingulate and retrosplenial cortex of both humans and macaques, employing advanced methodological approaches including quantitative cytoarchitectural mapping, receptor autoradiography analysis, and functional connectivity analysis. This research contributes to our understanding of brain structure-function relationships across species.
With an academic background that includes an M.Sc. in Experimental Biology, Dr. Rapan applies her expertise to comparative neuroanatomical studies that bridge microscopic brain architecture with functional organization. Her research provides valuable insights into the neural substrates underlying complex brain functions through detailed structural analysis.
