Lucie Storchová is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University and a researcher at the Department for Comeniology and Early Modern Intellectual History at the Philosophical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. She holds a DSc. title (awarded in 2023) and has been active in academic research and teaching since the early 2000s.
Her research focuses on early modern intellectual history, particularly Renaissance humanism in the Bohemian lands, cultural transfers, gender history, and historiography. She has supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, and has been involved in various international research projects. Her work spans interdisciplinary approaches combining historical anthropology, intellectual history, and literary studies.
Storchová's extensive publication record demonstrates her expertise in early modern Bohemian intellectual history, with particular attention to humanist networks, scholarly communication, and the adaptation of knowledge across cultural boundaries. Her research often examines how intellectual ideas circulated and were transformed in Central European contexts, especially during the Reformation period.
She has received several prestigious awards including the Wichterle Prize (2012), Bolzano Prize for her doctoral thesis, and recognition from the Rector of Charles University for significant scholarly publications. Her editorial work includes serving as editor for Acta Comeniana and guest editing special issues of Czech literary journals.
Storchová has participated in numerous international research projects and has served on evaluation panels for the Czech Science Foundation. Her academic leadership includes organizing international conferences on topics ranging from gender history to early modern intellectual networks and humanist communication.
