Lucie Preißler

Dr. Lucie Preißler is a Research Fellow in the Department of Developmental Psychology at the Department of Psychology and Sports Science, Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen. Her work focuses on kinematic analysis of prehension movements in infants, visual and haptic perception of material properties, and emotion recognition from body movements in children.

Education:

• Master of Science in Biomechanics, Motor Skill, Human Motion Analysis from Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen (2016–2019)
• Bachelor of Science in Movement and Health from Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen (2013–2016)

Her research examines the role of motion parallax in distinguishing real objects from photorealistic counterparts and the interplay between motor development and predictive skills in infants and children. She collaborates with Prof. Dr. Gudrun Schwarzer and Prof. Dr. Bianca Jovanovic on interdisciplinary studies.

Recent publications highlight her work on emotional body language interpretation in 5-year-olds and adults, as well as how material rigidity perception influences motor planning. These studies bridge developmental psychology, sensory integration, and cognitive modeling.
