Luciano Segreto

Prof. Luciano Segreto is a full-time Professor at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Management and Economics, Gdańsk University of Technology. His research specializes in historical and contemporary economic systems, with a geographic focus on the Baltic region and Italy.

Research Interests: Primary domains include economic history (particularly 19th-20th century trade dynamics), deindustrialization patterns, corporate governance evolution, and sports economics. His work frequently examines commodity markets (grain, timber), merchant networks, and industrial transitions.

Projects: Actively leads two major initiatives:

• OPUS-funded study on Gdansk's timber trade ecosystem (1870-1939)
• ERASMUS+ collaborative project 'Re-Frame fashion'
