Luciana Lepore

Luciana Lepore is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp, specializing in Emerging Infectious Diseases. She actively contributes to research and development projects focused on tropical health challenges, particularly in East and Central Africa.

Research Focus: Her work spans vector control, PCR diagnostics, and epidemiological surveillance for diseases like Rift Valley fever, Zika, and dengue. Recent studies analyze Aedes mosquito control strategies and multiplex pathogen detection.

Network: Collaborates with institutions across Belgium, Democratic Republic of Congo (INRB, CRSK, ESP), and Washington State University. Current projects (2020-2026) aim to strengthen research capacities and interrupt Human African Trypanosomiasis transmission by 2030.
