Lucia Winkler

Lucia Winkler is a Doctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry, affiliated with the Department of Biogeochemical Processes and the AquaDiva research theme. Her work focuses on biogeochemical cycles and microbial processes in terrestrial and aquatic environments.

Education:

• M.Sc. Molecular Biology, University of Göttingen (2020–2022)
• B.Sc. Biochemistry, University of Göttingen (2017–2020)

Research Interests: Primary production in deep terrestrial biospheres, genotypic characterization of hydrocarbonoclastic microbes, lignocellulose-depolymerizing enzymes, and diatom protein analysis. She has conducted projects in Antarctic lake metagenomics and shipworm metagenomics.
