Lucia Murgia is a Lecturer in Finance at Norwich Business School (NBS), University of East Anglia (UEA). Prior to joining NBS in 2021, she served as a Senior Research Associate at UEA's School of Economics and completed her PhD in Finance at NBS under Dr. Raphael Markellos and Dr. Apostolos Kourtis. She holds a MSc in Economics with a focus on Finance from the University of Lugano (Swiss Finance Institute) and a BSc in Economics and Business Administration from Bocconi University, Milan.
Research Interests: Financial Markets Microstructure, Macroeconomic Announcements, Experimental Finance. Her work explores topics such as monetary policy effects, Islamic investing behaviors, and retail attention in financial markets.
Recent Research Trends: Recent studies focus on heterogeneous price responses to monetary policy (UK), the influence of religious factors in investment decisions, and the stability implications of central bank policies. Earlier work includes analyses of recycling incentives and FOMC equity premiums.
Affiliations: Member of the Centre for Behavioural and Experimental Social Science at UEA.
