معرفی
Lucas SIDERIS is a Professor in the Department of Surgery at Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Medicine. His research focuses on surgical oncology, particularly in colorectal cancer, peritoneal carcinomatosis, and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). He has led clinical trials evaluating the efficacy of HIPEC and cytoreductive surgery, including studies on postoperative complications and biomarker-driven therapies. SIDERIS has supervised multiple master’s students investigating topics like HIPEC pharmacokinetics and clinical outcomes. He contributed to the Pan-Canadian colorectal cancer consortium (C4) and received funding from the Terry Fox Research Institute.
His work bridges surgical innovation and translational research, emphasizing evidence-based strategies for peritoneal malignancies. Key collaborations include the Chicago Consensus initiatives on peritoneal surface malignancies and studies on HIPEC drug delivery mechanisms. Educational contributions include randomized trials on surgical skill development for residents. SIDERIS’s clinical activities involve managing complex oncological cases and advancing multidisciplinary care protocols in surgical oncology.
Grants:
- Pan-Canadian colorectal cancer consortium (C4) Phase II (Terry Fox Research Institute)
Advising: Supervised 5 master’s students (2010–2021) focusing on HIPEC efficacy, surgical outcomes, and oncological care.
Labs/Teams: Active member of Université de Montréal’s surgical oncology research groups, contributing to international guideline development for HIPEC protocols and peritoneal mesothelioma management.
