Luca Vattuone is an Associate Professor of Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Genoa, affiliated with the Department of Experimental Physics of Matter and Applications (DIFI). He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Genoa and has conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge (UK). His research focuses on surface chemistry, nanotechnology, and materials science, with notable contributions to graphene chemistry, surface plasmonics, and catalytic reactions at well-defined defects. He has published over 120 papers, including articles in Nature, Nature Communications, and Physical Review Letters, achieving an h-index of 32. Dr. Vattuone coordinates research projects on nanomaterials and catalysis, including roles in the INFM and British Council-funded initiatives. He teaches courses in Materials Science and Biomedical Engineering, including Solid State Physics and Surface Science. His editorial roles include membership in the board of The Open Access Journal of Science and Technology and refereeing for high-impact journals. His work bridges fundamental surface science with applied nanotechnology, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaborations in energy and environmental applications.
